Felony child neglect charged in infant’s death in Nokesville

Felony Child Neglect – On October 5th at 1:00PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 10200 block of Aqua View Ct in Nokesville (20181) to investigate an unresponsive infant. Officers and rescue personnel arrived at the home and located the infant, identified as a 9 month old girl, unresponsive and not breathing. The infant was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation revealed that the infant’s parents, identified as the accused individuals below, left the child in her crib for approximately 16 hours without checking on her welfare. Detectives learned that the infant was placed in her crib around 8:30PM on October 4th and was found unresponsive around 12:30PM on October 5th.

Detectives also discovered that the infant had not received routine doctor visits for the past 7 months. The parents noticed a potential breathing problem 4 weeks prior to this incident but did not receive medical care for the infant. Following the investigation, detectives arrested both parents.

          Jasmyne Alexandria ALEXANDER, 21, of 10241 Aqua View Ct in Nokesville

          Both were charged with felony child neglect
