PHYSICAL AND IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS FOR SCHOOL
Parents and guardians are reminded that, by law, all kindergartners must have at least one dose of required immunizations, and all sixth-grade students are required to have a tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis booster vaccination (TDaP).
Also, all newly enrolled kindergarten through fifth-grade students must have a physical in order to start school.
Sixth-grade students in Fauquier County Public Schools will not be allowed to begin school for the 2015-2016 school year until this booster vaccination is received and proof of immunization has been presented to the school.
Vaccinations may be obtained at physician’s offices, military clinics, various pharmacies and at the Fauquier Health Department (phone 347-6400).
Just prior to the first day of school on August 17, the health department is offering a FREE immunization clinic on Friday, August 14 from 1-2:30 p.m.
