Fauquier schedules kindergarten registration

Kindergarten registration for children attending Fauquier County Public Schools will be held April 13-17, 2015.  Children who are 5 years of age on or before September 30, 2015, are eligible for kindergarten.

Between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on any of the five days – April 13, 14, 15, 16 or 17 – a parent should visit the school the child will attend.

Parents do not need to bring their children to kindergarten registration; however, they will need to bring them to kindergarten orientation, which will be held at a later date at each individual school.

For assistance in determining which school, parents may use an attendance zone locator service on the school division’s website at http://www.fcps1.org The f.ollowing documents are required for registration:
·      Photo ID of parent/guardian
·      Original birth certificate
·      Social Security number
·      Custody papers (if applicable)
·      A Commonwealth of Virginia School Entrance Health Form signed by a physician. This form must include a current immunization record and must be dated within one year of the enrollment date. It must be submitted to the school nurse for review before the first day of school.
·      Two forms of proof of residency (housing contract, rental agreement, property tax bill, deed, mortgage statement or utility bill). A driver’s license is not acceptable proof of residency.

All 11 of Fauquier County’s elementary schools will hold kindergarten registration April 13-17.
