Fatality in Lake Ridge single-car crash Nov. 1

Crash – Fatality – On November 1st at 9:53AM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Springwoods Dr and Old Bridge Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a single vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser was traveling southbound on Springwoods Dr approaching Old Bridge Rd. The driver is believed to have suffered a medical emergency which caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and cross into the median. The vehicle continued until it struck a tree and roll onto its roof. The driver, and only occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. An autopsy showed that the driver died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
