Nokesville’s Yankey Farm is offering goods at two locations: 14841 Glenkirk Road stand, open 10 a.m.-7 p.m. for plants to put in the garden; later in the season at 13007 Vint Hill Road, the market will be open Wednesdays and Saturdays from noon to 6 p.m. to offer sweet corn, melons and other summer produce as well as apples, pears, plums, peaches, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries, from Virginia orchards. Nokesville’s Farmers Market is opening Saturday May 21 at the corner of Fitzwater Drive and VA 28, 8 a.m.-noon, with goods from within 50 miles of Nokesville including vegetables, plants, barbecue that’s cooked and served onsite, meats, eggs, local honey and other homemade goods.
Warrenton’s Saturday farmers market, at the corner of 5th and Lee streets (7 a.m.-noon), is open as is the Wednesday market (7 a.m.-1 p.m.), which is at Fauquier Hospital this year. Both offer Virginia produce, meat and fresh flowers. Call 540-347-2405 for more information.
