Children and adults will have a chance to experience farm life and to learn about these cute and cuddly creatures when they visit Ernie and Barbara Kellogg’s Double “O” Good Alpacas in Gainesville during the 11th annual free Western Prince William County Farm Tour Sept. 24-25.
The farm will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
The Kelloggs welcome visitors to the farm, which is one of Virginia’s largest breeding farms. It is home to soem 500 alpacas.
Visitors are asked to use “inside voices” and to approach the annimals in a calm and gentle way. Alpacas are naturally curious but are frightened by loud voices and fast movements, according to Nancy Ogan, farm manager.
