Crash – Fatality – On June 24th at 9:02PM, Prince William County Police investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Sudley Manor Dr and Gentle Shade Dr in Bristow (20136) to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian, according to Officer Jonathan Perok, police spokesman.
The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado was stopped at a posted stop sign on Gentle Shade Dr waiting to make a right turn onto Sudley Manor Dr.
Once a vehicle passed, the driver began to accelerate forward. At the same time, two pedestrians began to cross Gentle Shade Dr in a designated crosswalk.
The vehicle collided with one of the pedestrians, identified as a 75 year old man. The pedestrian was flown to an area hospital where he died on June 29th as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
At the time of the collision, the driver was charged. The driver remained at the scene of the crash and was unharmed. Alcohol, drug use, and speed are not factors in this collision.
Following the investigation, the driver of the vehicle was charged at the time of the collision on June 25th.
