Educators get new posts with Prince William County Schools

Some 21 men and women recently appointed to new positions with Prince William County Schools are:

David Van Gelder, administrative intern at Patriot High School, has been named assistant principal there.

Chad Cavender, an administrative intern at Stonewall Jackson High School, has been named assistant principal there.

Aaron Greenfield, a teacher on special assignment at Woodbridge High School, has been named assistant principal there.

Julia Renberg, administrative coordinator for specialty programs at Battlefield High School, has been named supervisor of Science and Family Life Education, effective July 1.

Michelle Praul, a teacher on special assignment at Parkside Middle School, has been named administrative intern at Woodbridge Middle School, effective August 8.

Michele Edwards, administrative intern at Vaughan Elementary School, has been named the assistant principal there.

Geoff Deavers, assistant principal at River Oaks Elementary School, was appointed principal of Triangle Elementary School.

Kimberly Jamison, an instructional coach and ESOL specialist, has been named assistant principal at River Oaks Elementary School.

Wendy Martin Johnson, executive director of student services in Stafford County Public Schools, has been appointed a special education staffing and recruitment supervisor in the Department of Human Resources.

Douglas Miller has been named supervisor of transportation planning, effective July 1. Miller comes to PWCS with over 20 years of experience, most recently as the assistant superintendent of Northampton County Schools in North Carolina.

Brett Helman has been named supervisor of Virtual High School. Helman is currently an assistant principal in Stafford County Public Schools.

Martin Riddle, an assistant principal at Robinson Secondary School in Fairfax County, has been named assistant principal at Graham Park Middle School, effective July 23.

J. Jill Cowsert, a math teacher at Parkside Middle School, has been named administrative intern at Beville Middle School, effective August 8.

Shanette Miller, currently a language arts teacher at Beville Middle School, has been named administrative intern at Parkside Middle School, effective August 8.

Umer Faizi, teacher at Pennington Traditional School, has been named assistant principal at West Gate Elementary School.

David Lewandowski, administrative intern at Bel Air Elementary School, has been named assistant principal there.

Kathy Snow, executive secretary in the Office of Benefits & Retirement Services, has been named HR & Recruitment Coordinator for Transportation, effective July 1.

Rebekah Schlatter, supervisor of Secondary Counseling and Student Support Services, has been named director of Student Services.

Elizabeth Davis, a division literacy specialist for Winchester Public Schools and a Shenandoah Valley Writing Project Consultant, has been named supervisor for English Language Arts.

Tom Alexander, a teacher with Manassas City Public Schools, has been named administrative intern at Graham Park Middle School, effective August 8.

Patrice Mason, a teacher at Saunders Middle School, has been named administrative intern at Potomac Middle School, effective August 8.
