Fatal Crash Investigation – On Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 3:04AM, investigators with the Prince William County Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and Cardinal Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian.
The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2011 Infinity G37X was traveling northbound on Jefferson Davis Hwy approaching Cardinal Dr when the vehicle struck a pedestrian who was present in the lane of travel, outside of a crosswalk and in a dimly lit area of the roadway, according to First Sergeant Jonathan Perok, public information officer.
The driver continued to a nearby business where police were contacted. Rescue personnel responded and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Investigators believe the pedestrian may have already been on the ground and in the roadway prior to being struck by the initial vehicle. It is currently unknown if the pedestrian was struck by another vehicle. The body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. Investigators with the Crash Investigation Unit are asking anyone who may have witnessed this crash to contact police. Additional information about the incident will be released when it becomes available. The investigation continues.
