Dumfries man, 63, allegedly struck in head multiple times with a cane

**ARRESTS**

Malicious Wounding – On July 30 at 12:08AM, officers responded to investigate an assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 13500 block of Kingsman Rd in Woodbridge (22193) on July 29 at approximately 9:00PM.

The investigation revealed the victim, 30-year-old man, was attending a house party at the residence when he was assaulted during an altercation with the accused, an acquaintance, who resided at the home.

After the assault, the victim sought medical attention which prompted police response. Officers then responded back to the Kingsman Rd address to locate the accused. Upon arrival, officers encountered several individuals at the home and signs of narcotics use. Multiple occupants were detained and a search warrant was executed.

Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Juan Ignasico VELAZQUEZ DELGADILLO, was arrested in connection to the initial assault and subsequent suspected cocaine use. Two other individuals were also arrested in connection to the narcotics aspect of the investigation.

Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related – On July 30 at 8:05AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 15000 block of Silver Leaf Ct in Dumfries (22015) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed the victim, a 63-year-old man, was involved in a verbal altercation with the accused, a family member.

The altercation escalated physically when the accused struck the victim multiple times to the head with a cane. At one point, both parties fell to the ground where a struggle ensued. A second victim, a 57-year-old woman, attempted to intervene and was allegedly bitten by the accused.

The parties eventually separated and police were contacted. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Robert John GINTHER, was arrested.

Strangulation | Domestic Related – On July 28 at 8:30PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14200 block of Mount Pleasant Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed the victim, an 18-year-old woman, was involved in a verbal altercation with the accused, an acquaintance.

The altercation escalated physically when the victim struck the accused. At one point, the accused put his hands around the victim’s neck. The parties eventually separated and police were contacted. The accused left the residence prior to police arriving at the home and was located a short distance from the residence where he was detained without incident. Minor injuries were reported.

Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Kevin Long HENDERSON, was arrested. The victim was also arrested for domestic assault.

Attempted Malicious Wounding | Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On July 28 at 7:08PM, officers responded to the area of Market Ridge Blvd and Muir Dr in Haymarket (20169) to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed the victim, a 27-year-old man, was involved in an altercation with the accused, a male acquaintance, in front of a residence on Bryson Cir.

The parties separated and the accused retrieved a handgun from the home. The accused then exited the home and stood in front of the victim’s vehicle. At one point, the accused fired multiple rounds, striking the vehicle.

The victim fled the area and parked at a nearby business where he called police. Officers located the vehicle unoccupied. A friend of the victim was eventually contacted and confirmed he was not injured. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Michael Donovan WINE, was arrested.

Charged with attempted malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and reckless handling of a firearm
