Dulles Aviation closes operations at Manassas Regional Airport

Locally owned Dulles Aviation closed its operations at the Manassas Regional Airport on May 31, 2019, ending the presence of a remarkable family-owned Fixed Based Operator (FBO), according to a news release.

Dulles Aviation started at Manassas Regional Airport in 1970 with one hangar and soon realized that business was growing and needed additional hangar storage. Five years later,  a new hangar was acquired.  In the mid 80’s, Dulles Aviation started its flight school and has trained hundreds of pilots over the years. The students moved on to become airline pilots, charter pilots, flight instructors, and become professionals in the aviation field. Dulles Aviation also built two new hangars on the east side of the airfield to support the growing need for commerce on both sides of the airport. Dulles Aviation was a family friendly full service FBO with all the comforts expected when traveling away from home.

The news release stated that the company became a cornerstone for the airport and experienced the growing pains that every busy General Aviation (GA) airport experiences. One thing that never changed about Dulles Aviation was its long-term commitment to offering pilots and passengers the best customer service and aviation experience.

Juan Rivera, Airport Director, was quoted in the news release as saying, “We are thankful for the partnership and quality of service that Dulles Aviation has contributed to the Manassas Regional Airport. Dulles Aviation has been a catalyst in the growth and development of the airport. We wish Tom and Joe Gardner and all their instrumental employees, the best.”
