Driver charged in Dec. 4 Woodbridge fatality

Fatal Crash Investigation *CHARGED –  After consultation with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office regarding the investigation into the fatal crash that occurred at the intersection of Opitz Blvd and River Walk Way in Woodbridge on December 4, investigators with the Prince William County Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit have charged the driver of the 2008 Toyota Camry with failure to yield on a left turn. The driver of the Camry, identified as Nusrat Jahan PRITHEE, was served with a court summons on January 2.

Fatal Crash Investigation [Previously Released] – On December 4 at 12:11PM, investigators with the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the intersection of Opitz Blvd and River Walk Way in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a two-vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2008 Toyota Camry was attempting to make a left turn onto southbound River Walk Way from westbound Opitz Blvd when the vehicle collided with a 2016 Hyundai Genesis which was traveling eastbound on Opitz Blvd.

The driver of the Genesis was transported to an area hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries on December 6.

The driver of the Camry sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Speed, alcohol, and drug use are not factors in the collision. Charges are pending. The investigation continues.
