Domestic verbal altercations escalate; victims grabbed by necks, police say

MPO Renee Carr, public information officer for the Prince William County Police Department, reported that two domestic related strangulation incidents occurred last week:

Strangulation | Domestic Related – On August 15 at 3:15PM, officers responded to the Candlewood Suites located at 11220 Balls Ford Rd. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a domestic. The victim, a 31-year-old woman, reported to police that she and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation escalated.

During the encounter, the accused grabbed the phone away from the victim and damaged it, before grabbing the victim’s neck. Eventually the parties separated, and the victim contacted the police. The victim reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as, Michael Alexander JACKSON Jr., was arrested.

Charged with strangulation and preventing the summoning of law enforcement

Strangulation | Domestic Related – On August 14 at 10:33PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 16000 block of Crest Dr. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic.

The victim, a 45-year-old woman, reported to police that she and a family member, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused pushed the victim before grabbing her neck. Another family member intervened and separated the two parties. The victim reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Oscar Alfredo CORDERO AURORA, was arrested.
