Incidents and arrests released on Tuesday, July 14, 2015

**ARRESTS**

Strangulation | Domestic Assault & Battery – On July 13th at 7:44PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 14500 block of Piccolo Ln in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 20 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused put his hands around the victim’s neck and proceeded to choke her. The victim was able to break free from the accused, at which point, he struck her multiple times. The victim contacted police and the accused left the home. Minor injuries were reported. The accused eventually returned to the residence and was detained without further incident. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged.

Charged with strangulation and domestic assault & battery

Abduction | Domestic Assault & Battery – On July 13th at 1:53AM, officers responded to investigate an assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 1500 block of Featherstone Rd in Woodbridge (22191) on July 12th around 11:30PM. The victim, a 22 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused prevented the victim from leaving the residence. At one point, the accused forcibly grabbed the victim’s keys from her hand causing a minor injury. The parties eventually separated and police were contacted. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged.

Charged with abduction and domestic assault & battery
