Delegate Tim Hugo and other GOP delegates welcome Gov. Ralph Northam

Virginia House of Delegates leaders congratulated Ralph Northam Saturday on his inauguration as the 73rd Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

“I want congratulate Governor Ralph Northam on his inauguration as the 73rd Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia,” said Speaker Kirk Cox (R-Colonial Heights). “As I said in my remarks to the House on the first day of session,  I am confident we can build a mutually productive relationship that improves the lives of the citizens we both serve.”

“Governor Northam should be commended for his public service to people of Virginia and I congratulate him on his inauguration,” said Majority Leader Todd Gilbert (R-Shenandoah). “In the weeks and months since the election, I have been encouraged by the tone and style with which he has prepared for his governorship. ”

“Governor Northam is not only a lifelong Virginian, but he is also a product of the General Assembly,” said Republican Caucus Chairman Timothy D. Hugo (R-Fairfax). “It is our sincere hope that the new administration will join with Republican majorities in the House and Senate as we work to make Virginia America’s best state for families to live, to work, and to prosper.”

“This week members on both sides of the aisle have called for bipartisanship as we work through the 2018 General Assembly session and beyond,” said House Majority Whip Nick Rush (R-Montgomery). “We Congratulate Governor Northam and are optimistic we can work together for our Commonwealth.”
