Dec. 30 purse snatching at grocery store in Manassas

At approximately 10:00PM on December 30, 2014, Manassas City Police responded to Giant Food, located at 10100 Dumfries Rd, for a report of a larceny that had just occurred. 

The victim, a 48-year-old female of Manassas, told officers that an unknown male stole her purse containing her smart phone, wallet, and other personal items from her shopping cart and ran towards the store exit. 

A store employee chased the suspect and when he was within two to three feet of him, the suspect turned around and displayed a handgun in his waistband before fleeing in an unknown direction of travel.
