**ARRESTS**
Felony Child Neglect | Cruelty & Injury to Child – On March 20th, detectives from the Physical Abuse Unit began an investigation into a child injury which occurred at a residence located in the 12000 block of Kemps Landing Cir in Manassas (20109). The investigation revealed that the victim, an 8 month old girl, was in the care of the accused, her father, on March 19th. While in his care, the accused began to play with the victim. At one point, the accused slipped and fell on top of the victim and as a result the victim sustained a fracture to her femur. The investigation further revealed that the accused neglected to seek medical attention for the victim’s injury. The following day, another family member took the victim to the hospital where police were notified. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested on April 8th.

Charged with felony child neglect and cruelty & injury to a child

**INCIDENTS**
Attempted Residential Burglaries – On April 7th at 6:44AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 18600 Kerill Rd in Triangle (22172) to investigate a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that she heard her dog barking in another room of the home. When the homeowner checked the kitchen area, she observed an unknown man attempting to enter her residence through a window. The homeowner screamed and the suspect left the area on foot. While on scene, officers were approached by a second homeowner on the same block who also reported to police that someone possibly attempted to enter her residence. This homeowner reported to police that she heard her dogs barking in another area of the home. When the homeowner checked the residence, she discovered shoe markings on her basement door. No suspect was seen in this incident. No entry was made into either home and no property was reported missing. These incidents are believed to be connected to a burglary attempt on Thomasson Crossing Dr on the same day (released in yesterday’s report).
Suspect Description:
Black male, between 16 & 21 years of age with a thin build and light complexion
Last seen wearing a black coat and blues jeans, carrying a black backpack
