Covington supports Healthy Youth Council

Wally Covington, Brentsville District supervisor, has pledged $10,000 to the Greater Prince William Healthy Communities, Healthy Youth Council.
Covington said the council was started by Prince William County Public Schools, but has grown to be a collaborative effort with the schools and county government, park authority and other community support groups.
The initiative is an effort to make youths active participants in the community in various ways.
Covington said he believes the majority of youth in his constituency are healthy. He sees children very involved in youth sports and activities with the availability of parks and fields for sports. He doesn’t believe the national obesity problem is as heavy here.
