Covington donates $5,000 to Parkside Middle School
Wally Covington, supervisor of the Brentsville Magisterial District in Prince William County, donated $5,000 to Parkside Middle School on May 5. Covington donated the funds because he had challenged schools in his district to raise $5,000 in a single fundraiser; those who did, he said earlier in the school year, would get a matching donation from him.
Parkside held a fall fundraiser that topped the $5,000 mark; so Covington made good on his promise at the school’s opening night of “Beauty and the Beast.”
The money will go toward technology upgrades, according to information from a Prince William County Schools press release.
