Unusually hot September weather is overtaxing cooling systems at several schools, according to a news release from Prince William County Schools, but classes are still being held and sometimes students and staff are being relocated to more comfortable areas.
The school division has issued a statement saying, “We regret that temperatures in parts of our buildings will likely rise above preferred levels. However, we are confident that conditions will remain safe for everyone, and we will continue to monitor the situation. When appropriate, students and staff may be temporarily relocated to sections of schools where temperatures are the most comfortable and will provide for a productive educational day.”
The school division issued an apology “for any inconvenience or discomfort resulting from these situations.”
