Corrections officer assaulted at regional detention center

Assault & Battery on a Corrections Officer – On August 16 at 10:35AM, Prince William County police officers responded to the Prince William – Manassas Adult Detention Center located at 9320 Lee Ave in Manassas (20110) to investigate an assault on a staff member. The investigation revealed that the accused struck a corrections officer in the neck while being escorted into a cell after being processed by intake. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Jocelyn Susan AGUIRRE, was charged, according to Officer Nathan Probus, police department spokesman.

Brandishing a Firearm – On August 16 at 12:23AM, Prince William County police officers responded to the area of Shallow Creek Lp and Democracy Ln in Manassas (20109) to investigate a brandishing. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 22-year-old man, was involved in a verbal altercation with the accused, which escalated. During the encounter, the accused allegedly brandished a handgun at the victim and threatened him. The parties eventually separated and the police were contacted. Officers located the accused a short time later and detained him. During a subsequent search of the residence of the accused, a handgun and drugs were recovered. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested, according to a report from Officer Nathan Probus, police department spokesman.
