Congressman Gerry Connolly will hold his 16th telephone town hall for residents of Virginia’s 11th Congressional District residing in Fairfax and Prince William Counties and the City of Fairfax on Monday, Dec. 17 at 8 p.m. Parts of Prince William County are in the 11th District.
Thousands of 11th Congressional District constituents will be phoned at that time and invited to stay on the call and attend, a news release said. Those residing in the 11th CD who want to guarantee they receive a call and participate in the telephone town hall may sign up on Connolly’s official website - http://connolly.house.gov/sign-up-for-a-telephone-town-hall/ .
Since Connolly started the telephone town halls shortly after he took office in January 2009, more than 190,000 11th CD residents have participated in a call with the congressman, according to the news release. On one Connolly telephone town hall in 2010, more than 30,000 people joined a single call, the release said.
Constituents will be called shortly before the meeting begins at 8 pm on Monday. Connolly will give a brief rundown of the top issues in Congress and matters he is working on and will then open it up to constituent questions. Constituents who do not get the opportunity to personally ask a question of Connolly will have the option of leaving a voice mail question and will subsequently receive a response.
Connolly’s telephone town halls supplement regular town meetings and hundreds of meetings he has held with residents across the 11th Congressional District.
