Community meeting Oct. 3 on proposed elementary school near Chinn Library

Residents are invited to learn about and comment on plans Oct. 3 that could affect where some Lake Ridge/Woodbridge children attend elementary school in the future.

The Office of Facilities Services for Prince William County Public Schools will hold an Oct. 3 meeting to share information on a proposed elementary school to be located off the Prince William Parkway, on private property, near Chinn Library.

The elementary school will relieve overcrowding at Vaughan, Kerrydale, and Westridge Elementary Schools, as well as other eastern elementary schools that may be overcrowded. The purpose of this meeting is to share the school plan, address community concerns, and receive feedback.

The presentation will be held Monday, October 3, 2016 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Woodbridge Middle School, located at 2201 York Drive, Woodbridge.

Slated to open in September 2019, the new school is listed in the PWCS Capital Improvements Program as “Elementary School East – PW Parkway.”
