Update on Oct. 4th homicide investigation

Homicide Investigation *UPDATE – On December 11th, detectives from the Homicide Unit reviewed the final autopsy results and investigative details in the October 4th death of Stephen C. BROWN with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office. As a result, Prince William County Commonwealth’s Attorney Paul Ebert determined that the circumstances surrounding this incident and subsequent death were deemed self-defense and that the final finding of this homicide was justified.

Homicide Investigation [Previously Released] – On October 4th at 3:46PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 12700 block of Lost Creek Ct in Manassas (20112) to investigate a stabbing. The investigation revealed that a 48 year old man of Manassas was stabbed by a family member, identified as a 25 year old man of Manassas, following a domestic altercation inside the residence. The victim was pronounced dead at the home .All parties in this incident remained at the scene and were identified. Currently, no criminal charges have been placed at this time. The investigation continues. This is Prince William County’s 5th homicide of 2015*.

          The deceased was identified as Stephen Christopher BROWN, 48, of Manassas
