Due to the weather, a brief closing of the Aden Road Bridge in Prince William County has been rescheduled to Wednesday, March 19 and Thursday, March 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to a news release from the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Crews will perform geotechnical borings in the area, the release said.
Variable message signs alerting the public about the pending closure were placed in advance last week. Detour signs will be in place along the detour route. Traffic will be detoured via Marsteller Drive and Fitzwater Drive.
This work is part of the $4.56 million project to refurbish the existing single lane historic truss bridge and construct an additional one-lane conventional bridge over the Norfolk-Southern Railroad, enabling two-way traffic along Aden Road.
