Attempted Malicious Wounding – On Dec. 13 at 12:30AM, Prince William County officers responded to the Misty Ridge Apartments located in the 15000 block of Lost Canyon Ct. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a two-vehicle crash. The victim, a 36-year-old woman, reported to police that she and a family member, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation.
The parties eventually separated, and the victim went to her vehicle with her two children, a 12-year-old girl and a 15-year-old female juvenile. As the victim and the children entered the vehicle, the accused struck it from behind with a separate vehicle. The victim initially left the parking lot and then returned before contacting the police. The accused remained in the parking lot and was detained by officers. The victim and children reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Verlin Jermaine CLEMENTS, was arrested.

Strangulation | Domestic Related – On Dec. 12 at 1:10AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the County Center Crossing Apartments located in the 7000 block of Lakota Dr. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a domestic, according to a report filed by MPO Renee Carr, public information officer. The victim, a 40-year-old woman, reported to police that she and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim’s neck. The parties eventually separated, and the police were contacted. The victim reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as George Lewis MAZA, was arrested.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm | Distribution of a Controlled Substance – On Dec.12 at 11:28AM, officers responded to investigate a shooting that was reported to have occurred at The Sutton Apartments located in the 2300 block of Vantage Dr. in Woodbridge (22191) earlier that morning.
The investigation revealed that the accused was handling his firearm when a round discharged and struck his hand before traveling into the floor. The accused was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries or property damage were reported.
While investigating, officers observed suspected narcotics and items consistent with distribution inside the apartment. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Juwan Marquette JOYNER, was arrested.
