PWC police received 171 calls during today’s Winter Weather Event

Below are the number of calls for service received today, Tuesday, Jan. 6, between 5 AM and Noon regarding crashes and traffic obstructions in Prince William County due to the Winter Weather Event, according to Officer Jonathan Perok, spokesman for the Prince William County Police Department.

The total number of crash-related calls for services received during that time was 171 county-wide. Seventy of those crashes were noted but did not have a police response. The remaining 101 crashes did result in a police response and 12 of those crashes responded to involved a school bus.

Crashes Received: 101 county-wide, 12 of which involved school buses*
Traffic Obstructions: 40 county-wide, 18 of which involved school buses

Between the hours of 7:30AM and 1:00PM, county police suspended the crash response policy and limited our response to those crashes involving injury or other extenuating circumstances, Perok said.
