Volunteer Prince William’s Call to Action for June 28, 2024

Greetings, Prince William:  Help celebrate our nation’s birthday!  Historic Manassas, Inc. needs volunteers age 16+ to support Celebrate America along with the Stars & Stripes Rooftop Picnic in Old Town Manassas.  Three shifts are available:  11am-3pm, 3pm-7pm and 7pm-11pm.  You’ll have fun supporting both events which will include kid-friendly and family-friendly activities, and you get a magnificent view of the fireworks as we celebrate our nation’s independence!  Go to https://bit.ly/3Sp91TJ to sign up, email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to learn more.

• BEACON for Adult Literacy urgently needs volunteers age 18+ to host Summer Conversation Classes July 8-24.  Sessions will be held Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:30am-11am and Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7pm-8:30pm.  It’s all done online, so you can relax in air-conditioned comfort and help students improve their English skills at the same time!  BEACON is also recruiting volunteers for its next ESOL session which begins in mid-August!  Online volunteer information sessions are being held in July, please visit https://bit.ly/43zEFTv to sign up.  Email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or call 571.531.5838 to learn more.

• Brain Injury Services (BIS) needs volunteers to be PALS (Providing a Link for Survivors) for survivors of brain injury.  This is a one-to-one friendship program for brain injury survivors; the program connects BIS clients with volunteers who can help them socialize in the community and rebuild social skills through friendship.  Once a month outings for coffee, walks, chess, lunch, etc. can help a client get their life back on track following such a traumatic occurrence!  Please visit http://www.braininjurysvcs.org/volunteer/ for more information, email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to learn how you can help.
