Burglaries to homes and a boat, strangulations and assaults keep PWC police busy over weekend

**INCIDENTS**

Malicious Wounding | Strong Armed Robbery – On June 22nd at 4:55AM, officers responded to investigate an assault which was reported to have occurred in the 4600 block of Evansdale Rd in Woodbridge (22193). The victim, a 22 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was out in front of his residence located in the area above talking with an unknown man. While speaking to that man, they were approached by a group of unknown individuals. During the encounter, the initial man that the victim was speaking with assaulted him. At that point, the group also began assaulting the victim before taking his cell phone and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency and dispersing. The victim went to an area hospital for treatment where police were contacted. The injuries sustained by the victim were non-life threatening. The investigation continues.

Armed Robbery – On June 20th at 2:20PM, officers responded to the 17000 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 22 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he arranged a meeting with an unknown man in a parking lot in the area above. Once there, the victim was robbed at gunpoint but the suspect and another man. The man took property from the victim before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported. This incident was not random.

Burglary to a Boat – On June 22nd at 2:05AM, officers responded to Belmont Bay Marina located at 5300 Harbor Side St in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The boat owner reported to police that he was asleep on the boat when he heard footsteps and looked out the window to see two people aboard the vessel. The boat owner made a noise and the suspects jumped back onto the dock and fled on foot. No property was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On June 21st at 12:51AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 12100 block of Emory Falls Ct in Bristow (20136) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 1:00PM on June 15th and 12:30AM on June 21st. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the home through a basement level window which was broken out. No property was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On June 20th at 8:03PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14700 block of Darbydale Ave in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:00AM on June 18th and 7:15PM on June 20th. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry. Entry appeared to have been made into a screened in porch through an unsecured door. A lawnmower, valued around $100, was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On June 19th at 9:26PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 1300 block of Bayside Ave in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The resident of the apartment reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:00PM and 8:30PM. The investigation revealed that entry was made through the front door which was forced open. A tablet and camera, total value around $220, in addition to, an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency, were reported missing.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On June 22nd at 7:15PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 6700 block of Swindon Pl in Manassas (20112) to investigate an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported to police that between 7:00AM on June 17th and 5:00PM on June 22nd, an unknown suspect(s) attempted to enter the residence through a rear window. No entry was made into the home. The homeowner did report that an unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway was rummaged through. No property was reported missing from the home or vehicle.

**ARRESTS**

Malicious Wounding | Strangulation – On June 20th at 2:10AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 2800 block of Gloucester Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 24 year old woman of Woodbridge, was assaulted and choked by the accused, a known acquaintance, while inside the residence. The victim sustained a cut to her head. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Michael Charles LEACH, 31, of the 2800 block of Gloucester Ct in Woodbridge
Charged with malicious wounding, strangulation, resisting arrest, and possession of marijuana

Strangulation | Domestic Assault & Battery – On June 21st at 4:42AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 16900 block of Porters Inn Dr in Dumfries (22026) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 25 year old woman of Dumfries, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted and, at one point, choked the victim. Neighbors hearing the altercation contacted police. Officers arrived at the home and detained the accused. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Tassian Donnelle MOODY, 24, of the 16900 block of Porters Inn Dr in Dumfries
Charged with strangulation and domestic assault & battery

Abduction | Assault & Battery – On June 19th at 1:30PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14700 block of Deming Dr in Gainesville (20155) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 19 year old woman of Gainesville, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and forcibly prevented her from leaving the home. At one point, the accused left the residence and the victim was able to contact police. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants against the accused. The accused was eventually located and arrested without incident at a residence in Loudoun County.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On June 20th at 1:20PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 5700 block of Northton Ct in Woodbridge (22193) for a service request to check on the welfare of a resident. Once at the residence, officers checked on the individual in question and determined she was in good health. As officers were leaving, they encountered another resident of the home, identified as the accused. The accused was intoxicated and began to act disorderly towards officers. During the encounter, the accused kicked two officers and was subsequently arrested. No injuries were reported.

Lauren Ashley STRUNK, 28, of 5771 Northton Ct in Woodbridge
Charged with 2 counts of assault & battery on a LEO, 1 count of resisting arrest, 1 count of obstruction of justice, and 1 count of intoxication in public

Residential Burglary – On June 22nd at 10:20PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 10900 block of Coverstone Dr in Manassas (20109) to investigate a burglary in progress. The resident of the apartment reported to police that an unknown man was attempting to force her front door open. No entire was made into the apartment and no property was reported missing. Officers arrived in the area and located a man matching the description. Following the investigation, the man, identified as the accused, was arrested.
