Bullet lands on living room floor in Triangle apartment

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On February 29 at 9:58AM, officers responded to the Southampton Apartments located in the 4100 block of Southway Ln. in Triangle (22172) to investigate a shots fired call, according to Off. Renee Car, police department representative.

A resident reported to police that a bullet entered her apartment and landed on her living room floor, Off. Carr said.

The investigation revealed that a neighbor, identified as the accused, was preparing his handgun for cleaning when a round discharged through the floor and into the victim’s residence. The accused took the firearm out of the apartment to avoid any further discharges and placed it inside his vehicle where it was recovered by officers. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Jalene Marte HILL, was arrested.
