Broken glass bottle allegedly inflicts injury on two men in Dumfries

Abduction | Strangulation – On December 3 at 8:07AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to an apartment located in the 2700 block of Landings Point Lp in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 32-year-old woman of Maryland, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated when the victim attempted to leave the apartment. During the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim by the neck and then forced her back into the apartment. While inside of the apartment, the accused pushed the victim to the ground and continued to choke her. The parties eventually separated and the victim contacted police. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Lesly Zulema RIVERA ARIAS, was arrested without incident.

Malicious Wounding – On December 2 at 3:11AM, officers responded to the 16900 block of Porters Inn Dr in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a fight. When officers arrived, they located the victim, a 37-year-old man, suffering from severe lacerations to his face and head. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The investigation revealed the victim and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim on the head with a broken glass bottle. The parties eventually separated and the accused left the area on foot. Officers located and detained the accused without incident a short time later. Minor injuries were also reported by the accused as a result of the fight. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On November 30 at 11:44PM, an officer was on routine patrol when he observed a suspicious vehicle parked in front of a business located in the 18000 block of Fraley Blvd in Dumfries (22026). When officers approached the vehicle, a strong smell of marijuana was detected coming from inside the vehicle. As officers attempted to detain the accused, later identified as a 17-year-old juvenile male, he pushed the officer in the chest and fled the area on foot. Following the investigation, officers obtained a detention order for the accused who was later located and arrested without incident on December 1. No injuries were reported.
