Ashley Dimino, a junior at Brentsville District High School, is the grand prize winner in the 2017 Youth Art Month flag design competition. Ashley’s design will be on display during March at the National Art Education Association Convention in New York City. In the fall, it will be displayed at the Virginia Art Education Association Conference in Reston.
Ashley’s art teacher, Cheryl Miehl, submitted the entry on Ashley’s behalf.
“Ashley is very talented, and is very deserving of the award–given the amount of time she dedicates to her talent. I love when my students get to see their hard work recognized by someone other than myself,” said Miehl.
Aiden Fuhrman from Mountain View Elementary School in Haymarket is the first place winner in the elementary division; his art teacher is Rick Skelton.
The first place winner in the middle school division is Ruhma Noor from Hampton Middle School. Her art teacher is Cathy Sides.
