Ashley Walsh, Latin teacher for Prince William County Schools’ Virtual High School and Latin teacher at Battlefield High School, is the first-place national winner in a digital lesson design challenge sponsored by SoftChalk, a developer of tools for eLearning and digital curriculum.
Walsh’s winning lesson introduces students to ancient legends for classes in history and language studies. The lesson explores Roman legends and figures from ancient times that were important to the founding of Rome and early Roman history.
Virtual High School students are required to read legends and stories of the ancients in English and Latin for comprehension and then interact with the content in a variety ways, such as through video quizzes and other forms of multi-media.
