Assaults “by mob” break out at two PWC malls over the weekend

**INCIDENTS**

Assault by Mob | Destruction of Property – On March 7th at 8:49PM, officers responded to Potomac Mills Mall at 2700 Potomac Mills Cir in Woodbridge (22192) after receiving reports of a large fight in progress. Officers arrived and determined the fight took place near the mall entrance.

As officers assisted mall security with dispersing the large crowd, other smaller fights began to break out in the parking lot and additional officers were requested to control the situation. Two victims, a 17 year old male juvenile of Woodbridge and a 16 year old male juvenile of Triangle, were located suffering from non-life threatening injuries. Both reported that they were assaulted by an unknown group of males when the fight broke out. Neither victim was cooperative with police during their investigation. No suspects could be identified. As a result of the fights in the parking lot, two vehicles were damaged, estimated around $250.

Assault by Mob – On March 7th at 3:07AM, officers responded to the Manassas Mall IHOP located at 8300 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate an assault.

The victim, a 40 year old man of Springfield, reported to police that he was the manager of the business and that a fight had broken out inside the restaurant. After escorting two of the parties from the premises, one of them, an unknown female, returned.

When the victim attempted to escort this individual from the restaurant a second time, three unknown men approached and began to assault him. Minor injuries were reported. The suspects fled the area prior to police arriving at the business. The victim was unable to describe the assailants.

Residential Burglary – On March 7th at 11:23AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14600 block of Forsythia Tr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. The property owner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:00PM on March 4th and 10:30AM on March 7th. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the home through a basement level door which was found damaged. Two space heaters, an air compressor and other tools and equipment were reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On March 6th at 9:00PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 18200 block of Woodland Dr in Triangle (22172) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:00PM on March 1st and 9:00PM on March 6th. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the home through a rear door which was found damaged. A gaming console and other property were reported missing.

Commercial Burglary – On March 6th at 6:22AM, officers responded to Vienna Hot Tubs & Patios located at 7438 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate a burglary. The business owner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 3:00PM on March 4th and 6:22AM on March 6th. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the business through a rear door which was found damaged. An undisclosed amount of money was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On March 5th at 11:00PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 13700 block of Greenwood Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:00AM on November 1st and 11:00PM on March 5th. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. A ring was reported missing.
