Assault and battery on law enforcement officers alleged in several cases

**INCIDENTS**

Armed Robbery – On February 11 at 9:43PM, officers responded to the 14300 block of Berkshire Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 43-year-old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was approached by an unknown man who brandished a knife and demanded money. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money from the victim before fleeing the area on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect who was not located.

        Black male, approximately 40 years of age, 6’01”, 220lbs with a medium build
        Last seen wearing a black shirt and jeans

Strong Armed Robbery – On February 12 at 9:36AM, officers to investigate a robbery which occurred in the 4800 block of Dale Blvd in Woodbridge (22193) earlier that morning. The victim, a 30-year-old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was approached by the accused, an acquaintance, while at a business in the above area. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim then took her phone case containing her cell phone and several credit cards before fleeing the area. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

Cristian Alexander PLEITEZ CORTEZ, 25, of the 13600 block of Charles Ct in Woodbridge
Described as a white male, 5’08”, 180lbs, with brown eyes, black hair, and a full beard
Wanted for 3 counts of robbery, 2 counts of credit card theft, and domestic assault & battery

Abduction | Domestic Assault and Battery – On February 10 at 9:02AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 13500 block of Cridercrest Pl in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic. The victim, a 29-year-old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused began assaulting the victim. When the victim attempted to leave, the accused blocked the doorway and took the victim’s cell phone preventing her from contacting police. The accused eventually was able to jump from her second floor balcony and contact police. The accused fled the area prior to officers arriving. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused.

Described as a white male, 5’08”, 170lbs brown eyes and black hair
Wanted for abduction, domestic assault & battery, and preventing the summoning of law enforcement

Residential Burglary – On February 12 at 3:00PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3600 block of Wharf Ln in Triangle (22172) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:00PM on February 7 and 3:00PM on February 12. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the home through a rear glass door which was found shattered. Miscellaneous items were reported missing.

**ARRESTS**

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] –  On February 12 at 2:15AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 7600 block of Croce Ct in Manassas (20109) to investigate a domestic. Officers arrived and made contact with the accused. During the encounter, the accused became irritated and would not allow officers into the apartment to verify the safety of the other party involved. When officers attempted to detain the accused, he resisted and a struggle ensued. During the struggle, the accused struck an officer in the head and attempted to remove the officer’s Taser from the holster. The accused was eventually taken into custody without further incident. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Charged with assault & battery on a LEO, attempt to disarm a LEO, resisting arrest, and obstruction of justice

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On February 10 at 7:18PM, officers responded the 3200 block of Ridge View Ct in Woodbridge (22193) for a disorderly subject. Multiple callers reported to police that a man was in the above area smashing car windows with a fire extinguisher. An officer arrived and made contact with the suspect who was still holding the fire extinguisher. When the officer challenged the suspect, he fled into a nearby apartment. A short time later, the accused exited the apartment brandishing what appeared to be a handgun and the fire extinguisher. When the officer challenged the suspect again, he attempted to spray the officer with the fire extinguisher then run back into the apartment.  After a brief foot pursuit, the accused was taken into custody without further incident. Further investigation later determined that the weapon was a toy gun. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Charged with assault & battery on a LEO, brandishing a firearm, obstruction of justice, destruction of property, disorderly conduct, and intoxicated in public
