Assault and battery charges filed in two Woodbridge incidents

**INCIDENTS**

Abduction | Strangulation – On July 9th at 4:03AM, officers responded to the 14600 block of Potomac Mills Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 30 year old woman of no fixed address, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a physical altercation. During the encounter, the accused choked the victim and prevented her from leaving to get help. The victim took her phone and attempted to contact police, at which point, the accused took the phone and broke it. The accused fled prior to police arriving in the area. Minor injuries were reported.
Wanted:
Tyreek Jason CLARK, 30, of no fixed address
Described as black male, 5’7”, 140lbs with a medium build, black hair, and brown eyes
Wanted for abduction, strangulation, assault & battery, preventing the summoning of law enforcement, and destruction of property

Residential Burglary – On July 8th at 3:50PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 15600 block of Montview Dr in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 2:00PM and 4:00PM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured door. Two safes, containing an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were reported missing.

**ARRESTS**

Attempted Malicious Wounding | Domestic Assault & Battery – On July 8th at 5:18PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 6300 block of Oakland Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 22 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim in the face and, at one point, retrieved a large knife. The accused threatened the victim with the knife and swung it in her direction. No contact was made. Officers arrived and detained the accused without further incident. Non-life threatening injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Charged with attempted malicious wounding, domestic assault & battery, and destruction of property
