Arrestee allegedly pointed firearm at two small children in Woodbridge home

**ARRESTS**

Felony Child Neglect – On July 24 at 2:55AM, officers and Child Protective Services responded to investigate an alleged child neglect which occurred at a residence located in the 4600 block of Whitaker Pl in Woodbridge (22193) on July 18. The investigation revealed that, on that date, the accused was intoxicated and is alleged to have fired two rounds from a handgun into an interior wall. This incident reportedly happened in the presence of two children, ages 7 and 6. The children were not injured during the incident. In a separate incident, the accused allegedly pointed the firearm at both children and an adult woman inside the home. Based on the allegations, a search warrant was obtained and executed at the residence. During the search, a handgun magazine and ammunition were located. Officers also discovered two bullet holes located in an interior wall where the shots were alleged to have been fired. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Tasnim TAREQUE, was arrested on July 26.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On July 24 at 8:20PM, officers responded to the 7600 block of Aaron Ln in Manassas (20109) to investigate a large fight possibly involving weapons. Officers arrived on scene and located a large group in the Barron Park pavilion area. During the encounter, an odor of marijuana was detected and the group was detained. While investigating, one of the individuals, later identified as the accused, fled on foot. An officer attempted to stop the accused, at which point, he pushed down on the officer. Officers gave chase and were able to take accused in custody. During the chase, the accused disposed of suspected marijuana and prescription medication. The accused was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. The officer was not injured. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Sheldon O’Neil TAPSCOTT, was arrested.
