Arrest made in March 10 malicious wounding incident

Malicious Wounding – Arrest
On March 25, 2014 Manassas City Police made an arrest in reference to a malicious wounding that took place on March 10, 2014 (original release below). 

After gathering additional information from witnesses and conducting a search warrant at the victim’s residence, investigators took Alyx Ray ODELL, 18, of 13107 Aden Rd, Nokesville, VA 20181 into custody without incident at New Directions Alternative Education Center located at 8886 Rixlew Ln, Manassas (20109) and charged him with malicious wounding. 

ODELL was held without bond and has a pending court date of April 16, 2014.

Malicious Wounding
On March 10, 2014 Manassas City Police met with a resident at the Novant Health Medical Center for a report of a stabbing that occurred on the 8900 block of Cherry Tree Ln.  According to the victim, a male juvenile, he was with friends in the backyard of his residence at approximately 5:50PM when a group of male juveniles approached.  One of the suspects initiated a fight with the victim, during which time the victim was hit in the head with a steering wheel lock and stabbed in the abdomen with a knife.  Circumstances of the incident lead investigators to believe the juveniles are known acquaintances and that the incident was not random.  This is an ongoing investigation.
