Alleged robberies, burglaries, assaults and more over the weekend

**INCIDENTS**

Armed Robbery – On June 4 at 11:01PM, Prince William County police officers responded to the 13700 block of Lynn St in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 36-year-old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was gathering his belongings from his vehicle when he was approached by an unknown man. During the encounter, the man brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The suspect took the victim’s wallet, phone, money, watch and other property before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 searched for the suspect who was not located. Property reported missing from the victim was located during the K-9 search.

Black male, unknown age, 6’0”, 175lbs with a dark complexion, short hair and beard
Last seen wearing all dark colored clothing

Burglary while Armed – On June 4 at 10:00PM, Prince William County officers responded to a residence located in the 13400 block of Orchard Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a home invasion. When officers arrived, they located a victim, identified as a 22-year-old man of Woodbridge, in front of the home who advised he was approached by three unknown men. During the encounter, the men brandished handguns and ordered the victim, and another person, a 22-year-old woman of Woodbridge, to the ground. The suspects took the victim’s phone before approaching the home. At one point, the victim attempted to stand and was struck in the head with a gun by one of the men. A resident inside the home attempted to prevent the men from entering. Two of the men entered the home and ordered the residents to the floor. The suspects quickly exited the home and fled in a vehicle. The initial victim followed the suspect’s to the area of Hylton Ave where a gunshot was heard, possibly coming from the suspect vehicle. No property damage was reported. The suspect vehicle was not located. The suspects were only described as black males wearing mostly gray and dark colored clothing.

Armed Robbery – On June 4 at 12:05PM, Prince William County officers were informed of a robbery which was reported to have occurred in the area of Hedrick Ln and Felty Pl in Woodbridge (22193) earlier that morning around 3:00AM. The victim, a 27-year-old man, reported to police that he was driving a male acquaintance in the above area when the man brandished a handgun and attempted to take the victim’s phone. A struggle ensued between the two men while the victim was driving. The suspect eventually got out of the vehicle and the victim drove home where he reported the incident to police later that day. No injuries were reported and no property was taken. The parties were known to one another. The investigation continues. 

**ARRESTS**

Burglary with Intent to Defile – On June 4 at 4:10AM, Prince William County officers responded to the Potomac Inn located at 13964 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The victim, a 62-year-old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was sleeping in her bed when she woke to an unknown man standing over her. At the time, the man, later identified as the accused, was not wearing pants. The victim screamed which woke her husband sleeping next to her. The accused attempted to leave and was detained by parties on site. Officers arrived and determined the suspect was intoxicated and had broken into the room through a kitchen window. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without further incident.

Malicious Wounding | Domestic Assault & Battery – On June 4 at 4:08AM, Prince William County officers responded to a residence located in the 10400 block of Neale Sound Ct in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 53-year-old woman of Gainesville, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused pushed the victim, knocking her to the ground. A second victim, a 25-year-old woman of Marshall, attempted to intervene and was also pushed to the ground by the suspect. As the second victim fell, she sustained a significant injury to her ankle. The accused eventually left the home and was arrested later that evening by police without further incident. Both victims received medical treatment for their injuries.

Charged with malicious wounding and domestic assault & battery

Strangulation – On June 4 at 5:45PM, Prince William County officers responded to a residence located in the 8200 block of Peggy’s Ct in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 31-year-old woman of Gainesville, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused pushed the victim to the floor and attempted to suffocate her before striking the victim more than once. The parties eventually separated and police were contacted. Minor injuries were reported. The accused left the area prior to officers arriving at the home. The accused was later located and arrested following a traffic stop without further incident.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On June 3 at 9:50PM, Prince William County officers were informed of a domestic assault which reportedly occurred on I-95 in the area of Dale Blvd. The parties involved drove to the Garfield Police Station located at 15948 Donald Curtis Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to report the matter to police. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 53-year-old man of Woodbridge, was driving in the above area with other known acquaintances, including the accused. While in that area, the accused became irate, reached forward in the vehicle and struck the victim in the face as he was driving. The accused was remained irate and out of control when officers approached the vehicle in the parking lot. During the encounter, the accused struck an officer in the arm. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation the accused was arrested.

Attempted Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On May 31 at 3:05AM, Prince William County officers were on an unrelated call at the Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center located at 2300 Opitz Blvd in Woodbridge (22191) when they were approached by the accused. The accused became disorderly towards the officers and another party. During the encounter, the accused attempted to strike one of the officers which led to a struggle. The accused was eventually detained and arrested. No injuries were reported.
