Manassas City school Board recently recognized several groups from all eight city schools have been recognized for outstanding leadership. The schools were cited during National Student Leadership week for the work they do in preparing students for leadership now and in the future.
The following groups and individuals from each school were represented:
* Baldwin Elementary School—First Friends
* Dean Elementary School—Safety Patrol
* Haydon Elementary School—Safety Patrol
* Round Elementary School—Student Council Association
* Weems Elementary School—Student leader who led his school in raising $400 for Pennies for Patients.
* Mayfield Intermediate School—Future Leaders of America
* Metz Middle School—Student Government Association.
At the April 26 board meeting, the Osbourn High School Student Council Association was recognized for earning top awards at both the state and national level for demonstrating the highest level of leadership and community service.
