Manassas man held without bond in alleged Exxon robbery and assault of LEO

Strong-Arm Robbery | Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] –
On Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, at 3:43PM, officers from the Prince William County Police Department responded to the Exxon service station located at 8289 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate a robbery.

The investigation revealed that an employee observed an unknown man, later identified as the accused, inside the business concealing merchandise. The employee attempted to intervene and was struck in the face by the accused.

According to First Sgt. Jonathan Perok, public information officer, the accused fled the business prior to officers arriving at the location. Responding officers located a man matching the description of the suspect at a nearby business where officers attempted to detain him. During the encounter, the man resisted before kicking and striking an officer.

Officers eventually secured the man without further incident. The man was subsequently identified as the suspect involved in the robbery. The officer was not injured. The employee of the Exxon sustained minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Lucian Andrea CASSIDY, was arrested.
