Victims report machete brandished twice in US 1 road rage incident May 29

Brandishing | Road Rage Related – On May 29 at 3:39PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the intersection of US 1 and Squire Ln. in Triangle (22172) to investigate a brandishing. The investigation revealed that the victims, a 29-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were traveling south on US 1. when they observed a black Nissan Sentra pass them very closely before continuing to weave between lanes of travel.

As both vehicles approached the above intersection, they stopped next to each other at the traffic signal. The driver of the Sentra then engaged the victims in a verbal altercation before getting out of his vehicle and brandishing a machete. When the victim stated she was going to contact the police, the suspect got back into his vehicle and fled the area. The victims initially followed the suspect. However, when the suspect parked his vehicle and brandished the machete a second time, the victims left the area. At no time did the suspect make physical contact with either of the victims.

Suspect Description:
A white male, between 40-50 years of age, 6’2”, 200lbs., with short hair, and who appeared unshaven
Last seen wearing a black wind breaker style jacket
