Armed Robbery – On May 6 at 5:51PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Best Buy located at 2730 Prince William Pkwy in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. An employee of the store reported to police that an unknown man was in the process of checking out when he grabbed the merchandise off of the counter, implied he had a weapon, and ran towards the door.
When another employee confronted the suspect prior to leaving the business, the suspect again implied he had a weapon and exited the store. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspect who was not located. Later that evening, detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit identified the suspect and following the investigation, obtained arrest warrants. On May 7, the suspect, identified as John Haywood REDMON, was taken into custody without incident.
