K-9 unit and Fairfax helicopter search for suspect in Gainesville after Tobacco Hut alarm goes off

Commercial Burglary – On Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 2:23 AM, Prince William County police officers responded to the Tobacco Hut located at 14654 Lee Hwy. in Gainesville (20155) to investigate an alarm activation. Upon arrival, officers observed damage to the front glass door. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the business through the front door which was found damaged. A police K-9 and Fairfax County police helicopter searched the area for the suspect who was not located. Additional property damage was reported. Tobacco products and an undisclosed amount of money were reported missing.

Arrests
Assault and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On Monday, Dec. 14 at 7:53PM, Prince William County police officers responded to a residence located in the 4600 block of Whitaker Pl. in Woodbridge (22193) to assist members of the Department of Fire and Rescue with a disorderly person.

Upon arrival, officers attempted to speak to the individual, later identified as the accused, who struck two officers without provocation before attempting to walk away. After a brief struggle, the accused was taken into custody without further incident. No injuries were reported by the officers. The accused was treated at the scene by rescue personnel for minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused identified as Dominique Latrell WILKINS, was arrested.

Assault and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On Saturday, Dec. 12 at 10:48AM, Prince William County police officers responded to the Potomac Inn located at 13964 Jefferson Davis Hwy. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a disorderly. Upon arrival, officers observed the individual, later identified as the accused, arguing with the business employee and then refused to cooperate with the investigation.

When officers attempted to detain the accused, he refused to follow officers’ commands and actively resisted. During the encounter, the accused struck an officer before being taken into custody. No injuries were reported. While investigating, officers determined the accused was in possession of suspected illegal narcotics. Following the investigation, the accused identified as Kenneth Robert CLAYTON, was arrested.
