Woodbridge man, 22, allegedly assaulted while stopped for a red light on US 1

Strong-Arm Robbery – On Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 10:45AM, officers were near the intersection of US 1 and Blackburn Rd. in Woodbridge (22191) when they were approached by a 22-year-old man who was just assaulted.

The victim reported to police that while stopped for a red light at the above intersection, a white Honda pulled into the lane next to his and the driver, later identified as the accused, approached his vehicle. A verbal altercation between the two men escalated when the accused struck the victim. The accused took the victim’s phone before leaving the area.

The victim observed an officer nearby and informed him of the incident. While investigating, officers located the accused at his home and detained him without incident. The victim reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Dontae Lashawn DRUMGOLD, was arrested.
