Suspect in March 31 shooting turns himself in to Stafford Sheriff’s Dept.

Shooting Investigation *ARREST – On April 1, the suspect sought in connection to the shooting that was reported to have occurred in the 12800 block of Island House Lp. in Woodbridge (22193) on March 31, was arrested. The suspect, identified as Delonte HOWARD, turned himself into the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office where he will remain until transported to Prince William County.

Delonte Teron HOWARD, 25, 17511 Victoria Falls Dr. in Dumfries
Charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling, malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony
Court Date: Pending | Status: Incarcerated in the Rappahannock Regional Jail

Shooting Investigation [Previously Released] – On March 31 at 9:05PM, officers responded to the Glen Ridge Apartments located in the 12800 block of Island House Lp. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shots fired call. Responding officers located the victim, a 33-year-old man, inside an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound. The investigation revealed that the victim and an acquaintance were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the suspect brandished a firearm and shot the victim. The suspect fled the apartment in a vehicle that was later located unoccupied by police. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation continues.
