Victim avoids stabbing; suspect vanishes

Attempted Malicious Wounding – On April 1 at 12:16AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 12800 block of Evansport Pl. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a domestic. The victim, a 23-year-old woman, reported to police that she and a family member, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated.

During the encounter, the accused retrieved a knife and attempted to stab the victim. The victim was able to avoid being stabbed and left the residence to contact the police. The accused fled the scene prior to police arriving at the home. No injuries were reported.

Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused, identified as, Darwin NUNEZ-RODRIGUEZ. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.
