Manassas City Council calls special meeting on city manager

Manassas City Council is expected to appoint an interim city manager tomorrow Jan.31, during a specially called meeting at City Hall. Appointment of an interim city manager is the only item listed on the agenda. According to the agenda, time allocated for the topic is ten minutes.

City Manager Lawrence “Larry” Hughes was set to retire in 2011 but had agreed to stay on briefly while council sought a new manager. The agenda topic indicates the council is not ready to select a permanent replacement for Hughes.
