UPDATES

“After viewing the shooting scene shortly after the incident yesterday and being presented with the investigative results today, it is my conclusion that the shooting was justified and within Police Department policy. Officer Involved Shooting-SUSPECT IDENTIFIED
The suspect in yesterday’s officer involved shooting, which occurred shortly before 3 p.m. in the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and Bradys Hill Rd in Dumfries, has been identified as Jabril Eli MITCHELL, 21 of no fixed address
[Officer Involved Shooting (Previously Released) - Prince William County Police worked an officer involved shooting in the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and Bradys Hill Rd in Dumfries (22025). The suspect involved is connected to an armed burglary which occurred in the 1500 block of Indiana Ave in Woodbridge around 11:47 a.m. Police located the suspect vehicle, around 1:39 p.m., in the 18200 block of Old Triangle Rd in Triangle. Prince William County Police and Dumfries Town Police attempted a traffic stop at that location where the suspect, the passenger inside the vehicle, fled the scene on foot. Police from both agencies pursued the suspect but did not locate the suspect. The driver was taken into custody without incident. Police K-9 tracked the suspect to the wooded ravine area directly off of Northbound Jefferson Davis Hwy. There, the suspect was observed to be armed with a handgun and refused officer’s commands. The suspect began to advance towards officers and was shot. The suspect, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were injured in this incident.]
ARRESTS
Sexual Assault - On Dec. 22, 2011 at 5:46 p.m., police responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred in the 2100 block of Potomac Club Pkwy in Woodbridge (22191). The victim, a 22-year-old female of Hartford Ct, reported to police that she was sexually assaulted by the accused, a known acquaintance, while she was sleeping at a family’s residence in Woodbridge. The accused was arrested and charged in reference to this incident. Arrested: Ryan Nathaniel LEE, 22, of the 2100 block of Potomac Club Pkwy in Woodbridge. Charged with forcible sodomy. Court date set for Feb. 16, 2012, held WITHOUT bond
Burglary - On Dec. 22, 2011 at 9:49 a.m., police responded to the 6200 block of Oscar Ct in Woodbridge (22193) for an alarm. Police arrived and discovered entry had been made through an unsecured rear sliding door. A witness observed three unknown males, later identified as the BRENT suspect and the two listed male juveniles, hopping the fence to the rear of the residence.
The witness was able to provide police with vehicle information. Police located the vehicle at 5041 Lynwood Dr. There, the four accused subjects listed below were located. A search of the residence was conducted and located were two firearms, including one shotgun and one handgun. It was later determined that the two firearms recovered had been taken from a residence in the 7000 block of Token Valley Dr. which had been burglarized earlier in the day. Entry into that residence was made through a rear door which had been kicked open, however no alarm was present. In that burglary Christmas presents, including an iPod, camera, a gaming console, jewelry and other items - total property valued around $8,200, had also been reported missing. Most of those items report missing were also recovered during a search of the Lynwood address.
Two of the accused resided at 1459 Ranger Lp where a search warrant was executed. No items of note were recovered. The following arrests have been made in these cases. The accused, RINALDI, was determined to be a lookout in the aforementioned burglaries. Arrested: Leah Renee Lindsey RINALDI, 20, of 5041 Lynwood Dr in Woodbridge and Princenairobi Iloveallah BRENT, 19, of 1459 Ranger Lp in Woodbridge. Both adults have been charged with two counts of burglary and one count of grand larceny of a firearm. Court date unavailable, both have been held WITHOUT bond. Arrested: (Juveniles) :Two 16-year-old males - both of Woodbridge. Both juveniles have been charged with two counts of burglary and one count of grand larceny of a firearm. Court date unavailable, both are being held at a Juvenile Detention Facility.
INCIDENTS
Home Invasion - On Dec. 22, 2011 at 6:51 p.m., police responded to the 14300 block of Westminister Ln in Woodbridge (22193) for a home invasion. The victim, a 22- year-old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he had just stepped outside of his residence to retrieve his mail when he was approached by two masked men. One of the men displayed a handgun and both men forced the victim back in his residence. Once inside, the men took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency and a cell phone from the victim before fleeing. No injures were reported. This incident is not a random act. Investigation continues. Lookout: Both suspects were black males, around 18 years of age, between 5’08”-6’00”, thin build. Last seen wearing dark colored clothing and ski style masks.
