INCIDENTS
Officer Involved Shooting
Prince William County Police worked an officer involved shooting in the area of Jefferson Davis Highway and Bradys Hill Road in Dumfries. The suspect involved is connected to an armed burglary, which occurred in the 1500 block of Indiana Ave. in Woodbridge around 11:47 a.m. Police located the suspect vehicle, around 1:39 p.m., in the 18200 block of Old Triangle Road in Triangle. Prince William County Police and Dumfries Town Police attempted a traffic stop at that location where the suspect, the passenger inside the vehicle, fled the scene on foot. Police from both agencies pursued the suspect but did not locate the suspect. The driver was taken into custody without incident. Police K-9 tracked the suspect to the wooded ravine area directly off of Northbound Jefferson Davis Highway. There, the suspect was observed to be armed with a handgun and refused officer’s commands. The suspect began to advance towards officers and was shot. The suspect, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were injured in this incident.

Burglary
On Dec. 21 at 3:31 p.m., police responded to the 4000 block of Forge Dr. in Woodbridge for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Entry appeared to have been made through a rear window that had been broken out. Miscellaneous items, valued around $600, were reported missing.

Burglary
On Dec. 21 at 12:59 p.m., police responded to the 3800 block of Danbury Ct. in Woodbridge for a burglary to a vacant residence. Property owner reported to police the burglary occurred between 1 p.m. Dec. 16 and 12:59 p.m. Dec. 21. Entry appeared to have been made through a rear sliding glass door that had been broken out. Copper piping, valued around $18, was reported missing, however, an estimated $6,000 damage was reported.

Burglary to a Business
On Dec. 21 at 12:58 p.m., police responded to Corfu Contractors at 11091 Industrial Dr. in Manassas for a burglary. Employee reported to police the burglary occurred between 8 a.m. Dec. 20 and 10:45 a.m. Dec. 21. An exterior fence had been cut and a trailer entered. Various tools, valued around $200, were reported missing.

Burglary
On Dec. 21 at 7:12 a.m., police responded to the 13700 block of Keelingwood Circle in Woodbridge for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. A TV and laptop, valued around $900, were reported missing.

Burglary to a Business
On Dec. 21 at 6:10 a.m., police responded to the Exxon Service Station at 14675 Lee Highway in Gainesville for a burglary. Employee reported to police the burglary occurred between 1:05 and 3:45 a.m. Three unknown suspects were seen on video surveillance entering the business and stealing items, including U.S. currency and cigarettes. The men entered the stole, after disabling the alarm, through the front door that had the lock popped. Forced entry was also made to a back office where a mini safe was reported missing. Lookout: First suspect was a male, unknown race or age. Last seen wearing a brown ski-style mask, dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and black gloves. Second suspect was a white male, unknown age. Last seen wearing a black ski-style mask, dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, black coat, jeans, tan boots and two different-colored gloves. Third suspect, unknown age, race or sex, was tall, thin build. Last seen wearing a black mask, black gloves, black jacket, jeans and white-and-black tennis-style shoes.

Burglary
On Dec. 20 at 9:52 p.m., police responded to the 3500 block of Covered Bridge Lane in Woodbridge for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between noon and 9:30 p.m. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured rear sliding glass door. An undisclosed amount of U.S. currency was reported missing.

Burglary
On Dec. 20 at 9:31 p.m., police responded to the 12900 block of Queen Chapel Road in Woodbridge for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between 5:20 and 8:45 p.m. Entry appeared to have been made through a rear window that had been broken out. Two laptops, a gaming console, jewelry and other electronics, valued around $5,000, were reported missing.

Burglary
On Dec. 20 at 4:49 p.m., police responded to the 8500 block of Plant Place in Manassas for a burglary to a vacant residence. A passerby in the area reported to fire officials of a strong smell of gas coming from a residence in the above area. Entry appeared to have been made through a rear door that had been forced opened. It is estimated that the burglary occurred sometime between 9 a.m. Dec. 9 and 4:49 p.m. Dec. 19. Copper piping, valued around $2,000, was reported missing. Significant interior damage was also reported.

Burglary
On Dec. 20 at 3:27 p.m., police responded to the 5800 block of Fincastle Dr. in Manassas for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Entry appeared to have been made through a rear door that had been forced opened. A laptop, valued around $2,000, was reported missing.

Attempted Burglary
On Dec. 21 at 10:49 p.m., police responded to the 8400 block of Granite Lane in Manassas for burglary in progress. Homeowner reported to police that someone was attempting entry into the rear of the residence. No suspect was seen, however, the outer pane of a double pane rear sliding glass door was broken out. No entry was made into the residence and no items were reported missing.

Grand Larceny
On Dec. 21 at 10:27 a.m., police responded to the Holly Acres Storage at 13270 Minnieville Road in Woodbridge for several reported larcenies. The investigation revealed that between 5 p.m. Dec. 20 and 8:15 a.m. Dec. 21, an unknown person(s) cut the locks off of 10 storage trailers. Power tools, valued around $3,500, were reported missing.

ARRESTS
Malicious Wounding of a Law Enforcement Officer
On Dec. 18, police responded to the 12900 block of Edwin Dr. in Nokesville for a 911 call. Caller stated that the accused was acting out of character. Police arrived at the location and attempted to calm the accused when an altercation ensued. During the encounter, the accused pushed one of officers, knocking both off a porch and onto a concrete sidewalk. The accused then attempted to choke the officer as both were on the ground. Other officers arrived and were able to take the accused into custody. Both the officer and the accused were transported to an area hospital for nonlife threatening injuries. Arrested: George Shibl Korban, 63, of 12901 Edwin Dr. in Nokesville. Charged with malicious wounding of a law enforcement officer. Court date set for Jan. 30, 2012, held without bond.

Larceny from Vehicle
On Dec. 21 at 3:43 a.m., police responded to the 8600 block of Centerton Lane in Manassas for a suspicious person. Caller reported to police that an unknown man, later identified as the accused, was see looking in vehicles in the area above. Police located the accused in the area of Tendring Trail and Somersworth Drive inside one of the targeted vehicles. As officers were attempting to arrest the accused, he resisted but was eventually detained. A search of the accused resulted in U.S. currency, cell phones and other items which had been reported missing. Arrested: Jose Regino Velorio, 31 – no fixed address Charged with petit larceny, two counts of destruction of property, possession of marijuana and obstruction of justice Court date and bond information unavailable.

Narcotics Investigation
On Nov. 18, police concluded a narcotics investigation into the selling of the drug MDMA, commonly referred to as ecstasy, with the execution of a search warrant at 7352 Wichita Ct. # 12 in Manassas. As a result of the search, an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, marijuana, MDMA powder and pills and five handguns were seized. The following arrests were also made without incident. These arrests were previously held for investigative reasons. Arrested: Troy Andrew Tomlins Jr, 18, of 7352 Wichita Ct. #12 in Manassas. Charged with two counts of possession of a schedule I or II narcotic [MDMA], four counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and four counts of possession a firearm with a schedule I or II narcotic. Court date and bond information unavailable Arrested: A male, 15, of Manassas. Charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, two counts of possession of a schedule I or II narcotic [MDMA], one count of concealing a firearm, one count of possession of a firearm by someone under the age of 18 and four counts of possession of a firearm by with a schedule I or II narcotic.
